A Davenport man was arrested after police said he, and two juveniles, threw a 'Molotov cocktail device' at a St. Ambrose University security vehicle.
Davenport Police say they responded to a robbery call at the intersection of Locust Street and Scott around 3 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015. Three male suspects - one armed with a baseball bat - had reportedly robbed an individual there.
Before Davenport Police arrived, St. Ambrose Security personnel were following the suspects, when the suspects allegedly started throwing a Molotov cocktail device at them.
Davenport Police say the device caused damage to the university vehicle.
Police say all three individuals then went into a home in the 2100 block of Harrison Street. Police said there was a three-hour standoff at the home. Officers say they used a PA system to try getting the suspects to surrender.
Police arrested 18-year-old Juan Pizano Jr. of Davenport. They also arrested two other juveniles at the time.
Pizano was held at the Scott County Jail until he was released on $25,000 bond Monday evening, according to jail records. He was charged with felony criminal mischief, felony possession of an explosive device, and felony first-degree robbery.
