Update —

The precautionary boil order has been lifted.

Just after 4 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015, a spokesperson from the City of Moline Water Division announced the order was lifted.

The boil order impacted 70th Street east to the East Moline border and from 34th Avenue south to the Rock River. Properties adjacent to 60th Street on the south of John Deere Road.

“Laboratory tests have verified that no contamination occurred in this area during the low pressure event that occurred yesterday,” the spokesperson said. “We appreciate the patients and understanding demonstrated by the customers in this relatively large area during this event.”

Moline lifts precautionary boil order issued for parts of the city

The City of Moline has issued a precautionary boil order.

The boil order was issued Thursday afternoon, September 3, 2015. It included the area from 70th Street east, to the East Moline border and 34th Avenue south to the Rock River. Properties adjacent to 60th Street on the south of John Deere Road were also included.

Within the precautionary boil order area was businesses like Blain’s Farm & Fleet and Skip-a-Long Child Development Services as well as neighborhoods.

The precautionary boil order was issued “in response to a low pressure event that was caused by a construction accident along John Deere Road earlier today,” said a spokesperson from the City of Moline Water Department.

The order will be lifted as soon as the water is tested.
