Riders gathered for the annual Ride for the Cure in the Quad Cities.

Motorcyclists and other motorists planned to make stops at several establishments in the area Sunday, August 30, 2015, as they raised money for Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities, according to the event Facebook page.

Their stops along the way included The Daiquiri Factory in Rock Island, Milltown Coffee in Moline, Leamen's Bar & Grill in Geneseo, Cerno's Bar & Grill in Kewanee, Mulligan's Valley Pub in Coal Valley, Jeronimo's in Reynolds, and Ducky's Lagoon in Taylor Ridge, according to their event website.

At the event, Shad McKay said they had a lot of support at the event and saw a lot of people wearing pink and supporting with their shirts.

"I've been touched by cancer," McKay said," so it's well worth the cause to take care of the people that take care of them."

At the end of the event, riders could participate in a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing and other raffles.

This was the 8th year for the event. Click here to see the group's Facebook page.
