The Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences has been given a $100,000 grant to help with a renovation project.

Trinity College, located at 2122 25th Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois, is undergoing a revamp that will provide more educational space as enrollment grows. The grant, given by The Hearst Foundation, will help finance the final two phases of the $895,000, 4,000-square-foot project.

"This expansion project really allows us to number one- increase enrollment, but also gives us the opportunity to provide a hands on, engaging learning environment for our students," said Tracy Poelvoorde, Chancellor of Trinity College.

The improvements include a new state-of-the-art simulation laboratory that allows students to practice real-world situations with a manikin. What the Hearst Foundation grant will help with will be adding conference rooms, a study lounge, two offices, and an extra restroom.

Grants and gifts have funded the entire project.
