Former Iowa Senate and Iowa House member, David M. Stanley, has passed away.
Stanley passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015, according to the Muscatine Journal.
The former lawmaker, who served in the Iowa legislature for 12 years, was well known for his role in creating Iowans for Tax Relief.
“For many years, David has been a strong and effective voice for the taxpayers of Iowa,” said Iowa Governor Terry Branstad. He also said that Stanley “served honorably” and “will be deeply missed.”
Senator Chuck Grassley, who served with Stanley in the state House, referred to Stanley as “a close ally on the issues and a good friend.”
“Dave dedicated himself to reducing the tax burden on Iowans so they could prosper and enjoy a better quality of life,” Grassley said.
