The Honor Flight of the Quad Cities has made numerous trips to Washington, D.C. to help veterans see the monuments that were made in their honor. Some veterans can't make a plane trip, however, so the Honor Flight took veterans to see monuments and memorials by bus.

The veterans started their day Monday, August 17, 2015 at the American Legion in Davenport and ended at the Arsenal cemetery.

One organizer said this was a way to support veterans who have done so much to support the country.

"We really appreciate the community support and everyone just pulling together," said Bob Morrison with the honor flight group. "Veterans are worth everything they're doing. They've earned it. We need to support them."

As of mid-August 215, the group has taken 34 flights to Washington, D.C. this year.

The last two flights were scheduled for September and October.
