A woman was airlifted from the scene of a crash in Henderson County where she was seriously injured.
Driving a 2008 Chevy HHR westbound on Illinois Route 96, a 33-year-old woman drove across the opposite direction of traffic on an “s” curve and went into a ditch, according to the Illinois State Police. The crash happened Thursday, August 13, 2015.
Police said the vehicle drove through the ditch more than 400 feet until it reached an open field, where it then rolled several times.
The woman was airlifted for treatment of incapacitating injuries.
She was charged with improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and for operating an uninsured vehicle.
