Surveillance video of a reported robbery in Moline, Illinois shows a man grabbing a bag of money from a woman and running off with it.
The robbery at 1st National Bank happened after 11 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015. Surveillance video and photos were released the following day.
A 70-year-old woman had just gotten out of her car and was headed into the bank on 15th Street when she was robbed, according to Det. Scott Williams with the Moline Police Department. She had a canvas bag full of money that she was depositing for her business when the alleged robber, using force, snatched the bag away and ran.
In the surveillance video you can see the suspect walking up to a car parked next to the victim's and hiding behind it. The suspect can then be seen waiting for the woman to get out of her vehicle and walk toward the bank.
"He then walks in front of the victim feigning an injury to his leg and engages the victim in conversation before ripping the bank bag from her hands as she passes to enter the bank," police describe.
The suspect then ran southwest between the American Legion and Cullman's Hall, according to Williams' statement. The suspect then got into a vehicle waiting for him on 17th Avenue. The vehicle is described as a 2012 Dodge Avenger with the STX trim package and stick wheels.
Moline Police said the suspected robber is described as a thin, 6-foot tall black man with a goatee. He is estimated to be about 45 years old. At the time of the robbery he was seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt, dark-colored pants, a baseball cap and blue tennis shoes. The police department's statement also pointed out that the suspect has a "unique gait" and favors his right leg when he walks.
