A hospital chaplain shaved off all his hair to support childhood cancer research in memory of a 14-year-old Davenport girl.

Chris Frantz, hospital chaplain at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, shaved his head in honor of all children diagnosed with cancer, especially one of his favorite patients, 14-year-old Victoria "Tori" Vogel of Davenport, Iowa.

"I'm choosing to shave my head for all of these patients who were never able to make that choice for themselves," said Frantz.

In the past, Frantz has undergone multiple surgeries himself to remove a cyst that was at the base of his brain.

Frantz's head-shaving event took place on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Living Hope Community Church on Hayes Street in Davenport.
