A Rock Island man is in jail after grabbing a woman at the downtown library.

On Monday, August 3, 2015, police arrested 33-year-old Zohir Mohamed-Mustafa at the Rock Island Public Library and charged him with felony aggravated battery.

Pictures circulating on Facebook show Mohamed-Mustafa grabbing a woman from behind while she struggles to escape his grasp.

Nikki Clark was using a computer at the library Monday when she heard someone screaming for help. Disabled, she was unable to physically come to the woman's aid, but says she did what she could -- yelling and snapping the photos.

"I knew the story was so unbelievable, I just wanted to have his face. I'm a victim of crime myself, and I know that evidence is the most important thing to get somebody sent to jail, and so I needed evidence for her," said Clark.

Clark posted the pictures on Facebook, and they've been shared more than 700 times since Monday. She said she hopes it will remind other women to be aware of their surroundings.

"We think it's not going to happen to us, but it can. And it can happen in places that we feel safe," said Clark.

She also hopes it will encourage everyone to step in and help each other out.

"If it was my daughter screaming for help, I would want somebody to immediately run and help her," said Clark. "I guess I just want people to step up and do the right thing, not be so desensitized to the violence that we can't even come to a scream for help."

Mohamed-Mustafa is being held on $25,000 bond.

A judge has ordered an evaluation to see whether he is fit to stand trial.
