NEW YORK -- Westchester County district attorney's office announced Wednesday that prosecutors are charging Jason "Jace" Alexander, a director best known for his work on "Law & Order," on one felony count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one felony count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.

The 51-year-old is son to actress Jane Alexander and husband to actress Maddie Corman, with whom he has three children. CBS New York reports an investigator found the child pornography after downloading it from an IP address they determined was Alexander's home.

The two charges against Alexander are due to "allegedly possessing and file-sharing illegal and obscene performances of sexual conduct by children younger than 17," The Wrap reports.

"A forensic examination of computers and external hard drives removed from the location revealed digital files of children who are less than sixteen years of age engaged in child pornography," the DA's office says in a press release.

The New York Post reveals Alexander is accused of posting one video involving a girl around 12 to 13 years old onto a Torrent site, while also having an explicit video of a girl aged 6 to 8 years old.

He posted a $10,000 bail, and is due in Dobbs Ferry Court on Nov. 19. Alexander is facing seven years in state prison upon conviction.

Alexander has directed for a number of TV shows, most notably 32 episodes on "Law & Order," 19 episodes on "Rescue Me" and five episodes of "New York Undercover." In June, the Directors Guild of America elected him second vice-president.
