We are looking for a local band/musician to perform a set at River Roots Live, which takes place August 26th and 27th.
Eight bands have been selected from dozens of talented musicians who applied to move on to the next phase of our selection process – viewer voting. Viewer vote will be one factor in naming our winning band.
Browse the bands below and then select your favorite! Voting begins Monday, July 18, 2016 and ends Monday, July 25.
The top four vote-getters will perform at a showcase at the Redstone Room on Friday, August 5th and the winning band will perform on WQAD News 8 at 6 p.m. the week of August 15th.
Criteria for judges at Redstone Room show will be:
1) Stage presence and appearance
2) Material selection (with original material a definite plus)
3) Execution of material
4) Crowd response
Each of the four criteria will be weighted equally. Judges will score each on a scale of 1-10.
The winning band must be able to perform a set at River Roots Live, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th – the opening slot of the day.
