The roadway is back open after a crash on Interstate 80 caused a traffic backup near LeClaire, Iowa.
The Iowa Department of Transportation said the crash happened in the eastbound lanes around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July, 23, 2015. It happened between Exit 306 and the Mississippi River Bridge.
About an hour after the crash, the Iowa DOT announced that the roadway had reopened.
A News 8 viewer said traffic was at a crawl right around 5:25 p.m.
The LeClaire Police Department was on scene. Both of the eastbound lanes were closed at 5 p.m.
"Please consider taking an alternate route," police said.
Initial reports indicated that a semi was involved in the crash.
