Preparations were underway Thursday night for a busy Bix weekend.
Crews began setting up for Street Fest, which kicks off at 10 a.m. on Friday. The free festival on 2nd Street in Davenport includes food, craft vendors, live music, and kids activities.
Organizers are expecting some of the biggest crowds ever this year, with 60,000 visitors in town for the Bix and RAGBRAI, which ends at Credit Island on Saturday.
"I think on Saturday we’ll get some more people. The bikers are gonna come in, and hopefully they come down and wanna have a good time with us, get something to eat and cool off with a cold drink and listen to some good music," said Jason Gilliland, event director.
Street Fest runs from 10 a.m. until midnight Friday, and 9 a.m. until midnight on Saturday.
