A Davenport, Iowa man is charged with aggravated battery of a child, court records show, after he was accused of holding a toddler in hot water and causing severe burns.
Joshua Ray Avila, age 22, was accused of holding a one-and-a-half year-old in scalding water on Thursday, July 16, 2015, according to QC Online.
On Friday, July 17, Avila’s bond was set at $500,000, according to online court records. He was held in the Rock Island County Jail. A preliminary hearing was set for July 28 at 8:30 a.m.
