A juvenile and a 19-year-old were arrested in connection with several burglaries reported in Chadwick, Illinois.

Someone reportedly took money from a home in the 200 block of East 4th Street, sometime between July 10 and July 11, 2015, according to a statement from the Chadwick Police Department.  Police were again contacted when someone was reportedly trying to get into that same home at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 15.

At about 5 a.m. that same day, a homeowner reported a flat screen TV, Oakley sunglasses, and several other items were missing from a home on the same block as the first victim’s home.

Police said they arrested one juvenile, and 19-year-old Matthew Gorzney, in connection with the burglaries.  The juvenile was held at the Mary Davis Home, police said, and Gorzney was booked into the Carroll County Jail.

Jail records showed Gorzney remained in jail Monday afternoon, July 20. His bond was set at $25,000.

Court records showed Gorzney was charged with one felony count of residential burglary; he was appointed a public defender at his first court appearance.  His preliminary hearing was set for Tuesday, July 21.
