(CNN) — Former President George H.W. Bush was discharged Sunday from the Maine hospital where he remained following a fall last week that resulted in a broken neck vertebrae.
Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted on Sunday: “A very grateful President @GeorgeHWBush was discharged today from @MaineMed after four days of treatment for a fractured vertebrae.”
Bush, 91, is expected to remain in a neck brace while he heals, but will not undergo surgery for the injury.
