A Davenport woman was airlifted from the scene after being struck by a car in Buffalo, Iowa.
It happened on Highway 22, also known as Front Street, near 115th Avenue, at about 4:20 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 near the Buffalo Shores Recreation Area.
The vehicle was westbound on West Front Street when it struck a 53-year-old woman from Davenport, Iowa, according to Scott County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigator Detective Sean Thompson. The woman’s name was withheld by police.
“The area of this accident is a two-lane divided cement road which is unlit with a speed limit of 55 MPH,” Thompson said.
The woman was flown by a MedForce helicopter to a hospital in Iowa City. The woman was in critical condition, Thompson said.
There was no indication so far of charges or arrests in connection with the wreck.
Parts of Highway 22 were closed, and police expected the road to remain closed for several hours as they investigated the crash.
