The wreck was reported at about 12:30 a.m. at St. Mary's School, 6 West 6th Street, in Sterling.  Police said 33-year-old Dane McElroy of Elgin, Illinois was westbound on 7th Street, in a 2004 Ford Mustang, when he ran two stop signs.  He then continued westbound off the road, through the lawn of St. Mary's School, and eventually crashed through the brick wall at the east end of the school.
