It's not uncommon for professional golfers to attempt putts worth thousands of dollars, but Tuesday night, one shot had Tour veteran Jason Bohn feeling the pressure.
Bohn was challenged to make a 32-foot putt at Adventure Falls Mini Golf Course in Coal Valley in order to secure $42,000 in pledges for Tudi's Tribe. The nonprofit helps kids with cancer fulfill their wishes.
"Oh yeah, I was so nervous. Way more nervous than when you're putting for yourself. I'm putting for other people here, so it's a big deal," said Bohn.
Bohn didn't need to sweat, though, sinking the putt for his favorite organization.
"That's awesome, that's unbelievable. I can't make any putts like that on the golf course, so to be able to do it in mini putt-putt, maybe I ought to change professions!" laughed Bohn.
For the past several years, Bohn has had kids from Tudi's Tribe caddy for him during Wednesday's Pro-Am at the John Deere Classic, and he says the experience has helped form a permanent bond.
"They've just captured my heart. It means so much to me. The Midwest hospitality is phenomenal here, and these people have become like family to me," said Bohn.
