Nothing says Independence Day like a 4th of July Parade.
In Bettendorf, hundreds of people filled the sidewalks on State and Grant Street to watch the city's 4th of July Parade. The event included dancers, musicians, floats, and more.
"It's a lot of fun," said Lindsay Andersen. "We like to support the community and see all the different acts that are in the parade."
"I like coming here, because I get to spend time with my family and I like getting candy," said Olivia Andersen.
If you missed the parade or want to watch it again, a link to the event will be on the city's webpage here beginning Monday, July 6th.
In East Moline, hundreds of people also showed up for the 58th Annual AMVET's Parade. The event is organized by the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and the city of East Moline.
"You get to have a reunion with anybody you went to school with or your neighbors and it's just a wholesome community activity and it gives us a reason to celebrate being a small town," said Andrea Gilman.
This year's parade theme was "Honoring Our Quad Cities Veterans - Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War." Major General Kevin O'Connell served as Grand Marshal.
