Tim McVay faces charges of first-degree murder and concealment of a homicidal death, in connection with the death of Carrie Olson of Davenport, Iowa.

Police investigators testified about gathering information and evidence in the days after Carrie Olson was reported missing in Davenport, Iowa.  Following questions from the prosecution presented Monday, June 29, Davenport Police Detective Bill Thomas answered questions from the defense on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.

Sergeant Gilbert Proehl, with the Davenport Police Department, also testified about his search of Carrie Olson’s home.  He testified they did not follow up on one of the tips offered to the department, because they believed they “had the right man” when  they identified Tim McVay as their primary suspect in Carrie’s disappearance.

Photos of the interior of McVay’s home were shown as Rock Island Police Department CSI technician Garrett Alderson testified about his search of the home.  Rock Island Police Detective Tina Noe testified about searching McVay's home, and McVay's friend Joseph Walker testified about his interactions with McVay around the time Carrie Olson disappeared.

Investigators from the Quad Cities and Minnesota, forensics experts, friends, co-workers and family members have been called to the stand as prosecutors have spent more than two weeks presenting their case against McVay.  It is a bench trial, with Judge Michael Meersman presiding.
