After financial delays, concerns from Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba, and a missed deadline on the demolition of the building, developer Todd Raufeisen is officially off The Dock redevelopment project.

The Dock was set to be demolished Tuesday, June 30, 2015.  That deadline was missed and then Raufeisen was pulled from the project.

"I think that was in the best interest of the City and now we're going to move forward and keep Davenport moving forward with some new facility on the riverfront by hopefully another developer in the weeks and months ahead," said Davenport Mayor Gluba.

Gluba said two developers had contacted him about the project Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Alderman Ambrose said Raufeisen had a week to get a plan together before the council moves on.

"If Todd can't come up with something in a week, we're going to go in a different direction and we got to get that eyesore torn down and you know where we go from there, that's going to be a whole new discussion," he said.

The Dock Renovation Project has been in the works for two years. Raufeisen had planned a three-story, $11.2 million dollar project that would include restaurant, retail, and office space.

Raufeisen expressed much disappointment about the situation.

"We are disappointed in the council's decision, we are disappointed for the loss of hundreds of jobs and the positive economic impact for the city and its citizens," Raufeisen said in a statement to News 8, "we will evaluate our options and see where we go from here."
