A local organization that helps find missing people in the Quad Cities held a yard sale to raise funds.

The annual sale for the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network was set up in Rock Island on Saturday, June 27, 2015.  This year's goal was to raise money to help train its staff in search and rescue tactics.

"We find that it's about one person a week that goes missing." said Dennis Harker with the QC Missing Persons Network. "It may be runaway, maybe other reasons... there's everything from severe tragedy to a runaway to something as simple as 'I don't know where she's at and she spent the night at a girlfriend's house.""

Also on the horizon is the hope to purchase a mobile command center to help find missing persons.
