Cameron Cartee is one of more than 25,000 Quad City-area residents benefitting from the Affordable Care Act.

"Everyone needs health insurance," said the Moline barista, 23.  "You never know when something can go wrong."

Under Obamacare, Cartee can stay on his parents' plan until he turns 26.

That allows him to build business at Moline's Milltown Coffee without worrying about health insurance premiums.

"It's actually very important to me," he continued.  "It's something I don't have to worry about right now."

Thursday's 6-3 U.S. Supreme Court ruling allows federal subsidies for more than six million low-to-moderate income Americans.

Recipients get an average of $260 each month.

Genesis Health System's Vice President of Government Relations Ken Croken calls it a very important day.

"Health care insurance enables people to get the primary and preventative levels of care that are so important to their long term health," he said.

While this is a victory for supporters and a setback for opponents, there's no doubt that the Affordable Care Act will face more challenges.

President Obama says that the ruling shows that the Affordable Care Act is here to say.

Republican opponents, however, call the ruling incredibly disappointing.

At Davenport's United Neighbors, Dr. Ida Johnson warns about making too much of Thursday's ruling.

"We can rejoice right now," she said.  "But I think those who want to repeal it will continue.  I think this is not the end of it."

Still, Cameron Cartee is breathing a sigh of relief.  He and his two brothers will continue to get coverage.

"If you get in a situation where you need it and don't have it, it's a huge hit on life," he concluded.

For now, he'll be serving up success without concerns over health coverage.
