A half-dozen people from Florida were arrested after police said they found a skimming device and credit cards in a hotel room in Moline, Illinois.

A half-dozen people from Florida were arrested after police said they found a skimming device and credit cards in a hotel room in Moline, Illinois. An investigation into the matter was launched in early May.

"One of the local residents here in the Quad Cities became aware of the use of their card inappropriately, alerted the police and that's kind of what started the whole investigation," said Moline Police Department Detective Scott Williams

The bust was part of an ongoing investigation involving police in "numerous states," according to Williams.

"A search warrant served on an area hotel room and suspect vehicle by Moline Detectives netted contraband cards and a suspected internal skimming device," Williams said.

Six people from the Miami, Florida area were arrested and charged.

Osiel Valdes-Perez, 21, of Miami Gardens, Florida; Felix Delgado-Martinez, 37, of Miami Gardens, Florida; Pedro Quevedo-Perez, 25, of Hialeah, Florida and Ricardo Angelo-Duro, 23, of Hialeah, Florida, were each charged with unlawful possession of a counterfeit credit card.

Beatriz Morales, 27 and Yasley Gutierrez, 36, both of Hialeah, Florida, were charged with unlawful use of a credit card account number.

All six suspects were held in the Rock Island County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond apiece.
