Driver extricated after vehicle goes airborne in Aledo crash

A driver had to be extricated from his vehicle after his car went off the road and became airborne.

A driver had to be extricated from his vehicle after his car went off the road and became airborne.

The crash happened on Illinois Route 94 at the south edge of Aledo, Illinois around 1 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, according to the Aledo Police Department.

The 22-year-old behind the wheel had to be extricated from his vehicle after it landed on the driver’s side, police said. He was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to another facility. He was being treated for serious injuries.

The Illinois State Police Regional Traffic Reconstructionist was assisting in the investigation. The driver’s name was being withheld for family notification.
