The Quad Cities is getting a double dose of presidential campaigning Saturday.
Republicans Mike Huckabee and Lindsey Graham both made stops in Iowa.
"I hope that you will help me make this happen," says Mike Huckabee.
With 2016 presidential campaigns underway candidates from the Republican Party are hitting the Hawkeye State, laying out their plans for the future.
"A lot of people in Iowa who have lost manufacturing jobs. They number among the five million who have lost jobs in manufacturing since the year 2000. 60,000 manufacturing plants have closed in America. We'll see some of those open back up," Huckabee said.
In Davenport, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee's focus is jobs and border control.
"One thing I'll absolutely guarantee, we will secure this nation. We will secure the border, and we will take the fight to terrorist organizations." 14 seconds
"So here's what we need to do," said Lindsey Graham.
It’s an issue that is also important to fellow Republican and South Carolina Senator Lindsey graham.
"You're not going to self deport eleven million people. Secure your border, control who gets a job. Increase legal immigration; deport felons, as to the rest? They can stay on our terms, they have to learn our language, pay taxes, get in the back of the line. I'm tired of illegal immigrants being paid under the table,” Graham added.
Speaking at the Iowa VFW state convention in Bettendorf, he argued for change to help build the middle class.
"I would deregulate this country; I would go to something like a flat tax. I would sit down with Democrats to deal with Medicare and Social Security that's going bust,” Graham said.
Both candidates were making several stops in Iowa Saturday. That included a joint appearance at Joni Ernst's roast to ride event in Boone, Iowa.
The unique political bash brought six of the GOP’s top presidential candidates together for a motorcycle ride.
2016 hopefuls included, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Rick Perry, Scott Walker and Marco Rubio.
