The Rock Island native musician, Lissie Maurus, raised money for ALS on Saturday by playing a concert in her home-town.

The fourth annual Laura's Legacy Concert in Schwiebert Park paid tribute to Maurus' aunt who died from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in 2010.

Proceeds from the event benefited the ALS Division of the Muscular Dystrophy association of Iowa and Western Illinois. Maurus said the concerts have raised over $30,000 so far.

"I think she would be happy to know we can turn a negative into a positive by helping other people, patients, and families who are affected by this terrible disease," Maurus said.

In addition to the concert, there was also yoga, a children's dance performance, various local bands, food, and a beer garden by Bent River Brewing Company.
