Authorities were looking for suspects who allegedly robbed a Princeton, Illinois bank while armed.

The suspects reportedly came into the Centrue Bank on South Main Street through the front door and claimed to be armed, according to the Bureau County Republican.

According to the Princeton Police Department, the robbery happened around 2:10 p.m. Thursday, May 28. Initial reports indicated that the suspects demanded money and then fled on foot. It was not clear how much money they got away with.

They may have gotten into a dark-colored minivan driven by a black female, police said. Surveillance video captured by a nearby business showed that the vehicle had tinted windows and a missing hubcap, reported the Bureau County Republican.

One of the suspects was wearing dark clothing and a navy ball cap with gold embroidery. The other was wearing a dark colored hoodie and pants. He had dreadlocks that went down to his jaw line.  Both of them were between 6-feet and 1 or 2-inches tall with medium builds.

The Bureau County Republican reported that these suspects are believed to be the same men that entered a Monmouth bank around noon, according to Police Chief Tom Root.  He said the time they left Monmouth matches up with the time they got to the Princeton bank. They were believed to be heading  east on Route 34, and keeping off the interstate.

If you have any information about the alleged robbery, you are asked to call the Princeton Police Department at 815-872-2351.

Just one day before, a bank in Rock Falls was robbed at gunpoint. Authorities were still looking for the suspect involved in that case. Click here to see photos. Police can’t say whether the two are related, according to the Bureau County Republican.
