A little boy with terminal cancer fulfilled one of his bucket list items on Memorial Day by throwing out the first pitch at the River Bandits game.
Ty Sanford is five-years-old and has DIPG, an inoperable incurable brain tumor on his brain stem. Doctors diagnosed him with the tumor last month.
"It's been really overwhelming," said Ryan Silvis, Ty's Dad. "It's very stressful for him too, he doesn't understand why all these people are around all the time."
His parents are working fast to try to complete all of Ty's bucket list items, like taking a trip to Disney World to meet Ty's favorite superhero, Spiderman.
"He loved that, that was his greatest thing, he met Spiderman," said Silvis. "He had to go back the next day, and the look on his face was just amazing."
The next thing on Ty's bucket list was throwing out the first pitch at a River Bandits game, which he did on Memorial Day.
"It's really amazing to know that his dreams are coming true," said Becky Sedlicek, Ty's Mom.
Before the game, DJ's "Two Dorks" from 97x held a fundraiser for Ty. there was also a tennis ball toss after the second game with the money from that donated to Ty's family.
To help Ty's family fund his Bucket List trips, there is a Go Fund Me account set up people can contribute to.
Ty still has more bucket list items to check off. The next two dreams are going to the Dells and going to Fun City.
