A Bettendorf teen faced a criminal charge in connection with a stabbing that left another teen suffering serious injuries.

Drew Romkey, 18, was accused of stabbing the victim four times according to an affidavit from Davenport, Iowa Police.

Investigators were sent to a hospital in Bettendorf after two teenaged stabbing victims reportedly showed up there Saturday morning, April 11, 2015.  Police said then that a 17-year-old told them he had been stabbed in the 6100 block of Lakeshore Circle.

Now Romkey, who was 17 at the time, faces a charge of felony willful injury in connection with the incident.

“(T)he victim sustained serious injuries, had to undergo surgery, and required extended hospitalization,” the police affidavit said.

Jail records showed Romkey was booked into the Scott County Jail just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015.  He spent 40 minutes in custody before he was released in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Court records showed Romkey was next scheduled to appear in Scott County Court on June 2.
