The number of avian flu cases in Iowa has risen, making 52 cases in the state.

On Thursday, May 14, 2015 it was reported that the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship checked out two possible cases of bird flu in Sioux and Plymouth Counties.

The areas of possible bird flu have been quarantined and once the disease in confirmed all the birds will be euthanized, according to a report by the Iowa Department of Agriculture. More than 25 million birds have been affected.

Most of the confirmed cases are on turkey, pullet, and layer farms located in the northwest corner of the state.
