Despite snapping a 12-game winning streak on Tuesday afternoon, the River Bandits still sport the best record in organized baseball with its 25-7 record this season.

"Quad City River Bandits baseball is on the air," said announcer Marco LaNave, just before Tuesday's first pitch.

The River Bandits are on a roll in 2015.

"Five games up on the Cedar Rapids Kernels," he continued.

And not just topping the Midwest League.  They have the best record in organized baseball, including the majors.

"I look up and down this roster," LaNave said.

He's called all 25 wins in 2015.

"I see that everyone has contributed in a key way, in some victory, at some point, in the season already," he continued.

It's fun for the players, but it's simply great for the fans.

Die-hard fan Shirley Barnes celebrated her 86th birthday by throwing the ceremonial first pitch.

She followed the team long before they were the River Bandits.

"If we don't win, it's okay," she said.  "We're learning here."

She's seen good teams and bad teams, but this one is something special.

"They're young, and they have a lot of get-up and go," she continued.  "They really want to win."

Frank Wulf has watched baseball here for decades.

He thinks it's a remarkable team.

"I think it's great," he said.  "They're just a winning team, and it's wonderful."

For longtime fans like Shirley and Frank, this season is something to savor.  It's certainly a record to remember.

Nobody knows how long the magic will last, but fans are going to enjoy every moment.

"They've been winning out of town and everything," Wulf continued.  "It's just unbelievable."

From Modern Woodmen Park -- named the best -- it's only fitting that its team should follow.

"Isn't it marvelous?" birthday girl Shirley concluded.  "I think it's the greatest thing on Earth."

Lots of Bandits baseball fans agree.
