Students at Pleasant View Elementary School in Bettendorf, Iowa, have collected loose change to support efforts to help Nepal recover from earthquakes near Katmandu.

Several families of Nepalese heritage are part of the school's community, and that has made efforts to help even more meaningful for everyone connected to the school.

"It's not about how much you can bring in a coin drive is just a little bit.  If we all do that, it can go a long way.  So we talk to the kids, if everyone does a little, together we can do a lot and a lot of good," said Pleasant View Principal Steven Cotton.

Administrators said they deposit money daily as a steady stream of students continued to add to the fundraiser.
