A Rock Island County judge has approved  a no contact order filed by two Sherrard High School students who say they have been the target of ongoing verbal and physical abuse by their teacher and advisor.

The teacher, Corey Terwilliger, has been placed on paid leave by the district, pending the results of an internal investigation.

"He has an explosive temper. He just within the past two years has become very touchy-feely with us girls and has made a lot of sexual comments to us which of course makes us uncomfortable. As our teacher, it's not something we really want to hear," said Ausdale, in an interview with WQAD.

She and Kaysyee Haley, also 18, say they went to school authorities with their complaints on April 13th, and filed the no contact order because they don't feel safe after ongoing alleged incidents in school, and out.

"The boundaries that Mr. Terwilliger overstepped were too extreme for me to handle. He went way too far with the sexual comments, touching you, kissing the top of your head. Everything, way too much," said Haley.

Attorneys for the district say it is conducting an internal investigation into the claims, but can't say anything more because it is a personnel matter.

"He grabbed my face and told me he owned me, and that was the day I couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed my face with his two hands out and pulled it up to his, and said 'I own you'. Nobody owns me," Ausdale said.

"If you don't do what he asks or you upset him he won't take you to contests, he won't run you for certain offices and he'll tell other students about you. It's like blackmail," Ausdale said.

"He'll say he has a 'rule' in our chapter. If you have a lesbian experience, you have to send him a picture. Or when I wear a certain pair of pants he'll comment, 'That is why guys look at your butt, right?'" she said in an interview with News 8.

In her petition for a no contact order, Ausdale listed a series of reasons for the request, including "told me he's tired of my bull----, and openly swears at me. Has come to my home and has had me babysit his daughter, told me to spend the night, I owed her a sleepover."

"Threatening not to let me compete or run for offices if I don't do what he wants. Told me to keep our conflict between us and not tell other teachers. When I am not at school he texts me off his phone and other students phones asking where I am and why I'm not at school. Blocking the door to his office, forcing hugs, foot rubs, stroking my back, hair, grabbing my arms, grabs my face, kisses my forehead," she wrote.

In the other petition, Haley states the teacher "has forcibly hugged me on several occasions, kissed my head, rubbed my shoulders, made sexual comments/threats and it made me feel very uncomfortable. He has blocked doorways so I couldn't leave. He has shown up to my work on two occasions," she wrote.

The judge entered the no contact order during a hearing in Rock Island on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Terwilliger has been at Sherrard High School for seven years. He and his attorney say they have no comment on the allegations, but are asking that the no contact order be amended so that he can be on school grounds.

The order requires him to be 500 feet away from both students.
