It's all fixed.

The broken sewer pipe that was leaking untreated wastewater into a tributary of Goose Creek has been repaired.

On Saturday, April 25th, 2015, the City of Davenport reported that "both sections of the displaced pipe have been repaired and the effluent is no longer discharging into the waterway."

“Residents should keep children and pets away from an unnamed tributary to Goose Creek, and from Goose and Duck creeks until 48 hours after the sewer line is repaired,” advised Terry Jones with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

City leaders also say that the "overflow was the result of the erosion of the adjacent stream bank, which exposed the sanitary sewer and resulted in a partial collapse of the pipe."

The break was discovered earlier this week. For more coverage, click here.
