As crews in Davenport prep for the construction of the new Central Fire Station, one block of Scott Street will be closed for more than a year.

Starting on Thursday, April 23, 2015, crews will be placing a construction fence around the building at 331 Scott Street. This will close Scott between 3rd and 4th Streets. A spokesperson from the City of Davenport said that block would remain closed until late 2016.

Emergency vehicles will still have access, and the fire department will still be using the Central Station.

The construction will not affect the hours of nearby businesses.

While construction is underway, the Davenport Fire Administration will be located on the ninth floor of the Scott Community College Kahl Education Center, 326 West 3rd Street.
