Construction work resumed at the Orascom construction site on Monday, April 20, 2015, but hundreds of AECOM-URS workers were still looking for new jobs at the project.

On Friday, April 17, 2015, the workers found out they were temporarily being laid off. Initial reports indicated AECOM-URS withdrew from the project. Some of those laid-off workers could quickly get jobs from other sub-contractors though. It's why some of those AECOM-URS employees reported to the construction site on Monday.

"I'm sure they're wondering where they're going to work next," construction worker Kevin Pattengale said Monday morning.

Pattengale is a member of the Local 172 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union out of South Bend, Indiana.

"They've got a family to take care of, so you have to take it one day at a time on these jobs," he said. "That's all you can worry about."

Pattengale says his employer picked up some of the work that AECOM-URS left on Friday. There is no word how many of the workers will get their jobs back.
