On Thursday, April 16, 2015, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved the Isle’s owners starting construction on a new land-based casino. The building will go in the existing courtyard of the complex., and the $8.5 million hotel renovation currently underway on the South Tower.

The new casino will have a buffet, 35,000-foot casino floor, and diner.

Bettendorf city officials have wanted a land-based casino in their city for their downtown for the past two years. The city is trying to revitalize its downtown, and city leaders are hoping a new casino will help.
