A power outage striking Moline at 4:45 a.m. threw WQAD News 8 into the dark early Monday, April 13. MidAmerican Energy reported 1300 customers were without power in the area of the 16th Street hill, north of SouthPark Mall.
The power went off as Julie Sisk was reading the business report in the 4:30 a.m. half hour. She remained calm as co-anchor Jim Mertens and meteorologist Eric Sorensen worried about the dark.
We got the power back around 6:15 a.m.
