The man who overpowered a guard, took his weapon and clothes and escaped from the Kankakee County Jail, reportedly had help from an aunt who gave him inside information.
Taylor was captured in Chicago just before midnight Friday night, April 3, police said. Jail records showed he was held in the Cook County Jail as of Monday, April 6.
Tonya Grant, 50, of Kankakee, who was a correctional officer for the county, was accused of giving Kamron Taylor information that helped him escape from jail. Grant was arrested Saturday, April 4, 2015, police said, and charged with obstructing justice and aiding in escape.
Grant was held in the Kankakee County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
