Missing teen found after fears she was with Illinois escapee

Less than two hours after a missing person alert for 15-year-old Savannah Bell was issued, the alert was cancelled. Illinois State Police said she was located.

Less than two hours after a missing person alert for 15-year-old Savannah Bell was issued, it was cancelled.  Illinois State Police said she was located.

A missing teenage girl is believed to be with a convicted murderer police say escaped from an Illinois jail.

Savannah Bell, 15, is believed to be in danger and was last seen early in the morning Wednesday, April 1, 2015, according to the Illinois State Police.

“She is believed to be in the company of Kamron Taylor…” said a statement about the incident.

Taylor, age 23, had been at the Kankakee Jail south of Chicago awaiting sentencing for a murder conviction. He reportedly overpowered a guard by beating him around 3 a.m. Wednesday April 1. Taylor took the guard’s uniform, keys, and drove away in the guard’s SUV.  The SUV was found in Kankakee around 8:30 a.m. but Taylor was not found.

This is reportedly Taylor’s second attempt at escaping jail since his conviction.

Savannah is described as a white teenager with brown eyes, standing 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a black jacket and black jeans.

Taylor is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. Police say he was wearing a correctional officer uniform.

Police say Taylor is believed to be armed and dangerous.
