Nearly one year after agreeing to purchase the Eye Care Pavilion in Davenport, St. Ambrose is preparing to open a Welcome Center.
The building, located at 310 West Locust Street, is being renovated and turned into a new Welcome Center for the school. The center would also house offices for SAU Admissions.
The purchase was announced in May of 2014 and was completed on Monday, March 2, 2015.
Work has begun on renovating the interior of the 7,400 square-foot building.
“We were very excited when approached about purchasing this property, both for the attractive building and to fill out the southeast ‘footprint’ of our campus,” said Vice President for Finance, Mike Poster.
The renovation was expected to be completed by July.
The Eye Care Pavilion continued to take patients throughout the selling process. Their new facility is located at 4310 East 53rd Street in Davenport.
