Authorities are working to identify the person who reportedly broke in to a Moline restaurant and stole thousands of dollars.

According to a post on the Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities Facebook page, Bierstube restaurant at 5th Avenue and 15th Street in Moline was broken into on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.  Whoever was responsible got away with $4,000 in cash.

"As our manager was leaving, after we watched the tape, we witnessed somebody sneaking into the restaurant," said Mike Rebitzer, the Bierstube's general manager.

"To have somebody just come in with no regard and snatch and grab something from you is just inexplicable," he added.

Rebitzer believes the suspect entered into the back of the restaurant around 8 p.m. that night, sneaking his way into the basement where police say the suspect stole money.

A frustrated Rebitzer said about three days worth of profits were taken, putting them behind during what Rebitzer calls a "slow" time.

During the time of the incident, Bierstube had eight security cameras, which captured images of the suspect. Since the burglary, Bierstube has tripled the number of cameras.

Crime Stoppers shared stills from surveillance video of the possible suspect on their Facebook page.
