A Davenport man was unresponsive after a two-car daytime crash at Northwest Boulevard and 46th Street.
First responders said 48-year-old Bernard Hanten was northbound on Northwest Boulevard when he struck another vehicle as he approached the intersection at 46th Street just after noon Thursday, February 19, 2015. Hanten was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
“Based off a preliminary investigation, it is believed a medical condition led to the accident and to the death of the involved driver,” said Davenport Police Captain Dale Sievert. An autopsy was planned, Sievert said.
The other driver was also hospitalized for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene of the crash, Sievert said.
