A street sign, fence, parked car and home in East Moline, Illinois were struck when a driver lost control of her vehicle and mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, police say.

A white sedan with four people inside was headed westbound on 11th Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 when the teenage driver lost control of the vehicle, according to East Moline Police.  Instead of hitting the brake she hit the gas pedal.

The “11th Avenue, 15th Street” sign was struck, along with a nearby fence, a parked car and a home in the 1500 block of 11th Ave, police said.  Minor damage was done to the foundation of the home.

East Moline Police said that there were no injuries.
