Illinois man accused in string of business burglaries in Camanche

Investigators say they’ve arrested an Illinois man in connection with several business burglaries near schools in Camanche, Iowa.

Investigators say they’ve arrested an Illinois man in connection with several business burglaries in Camanche, Iowa.

Between August 2013 and December 2013, Camanche businesses including Jersey’s Bar, Spring Garden Restaurant, Luigi’s Woodfire Pizza and Junge’s Barber Shop were all burglarized.  The victim businesses were all located within a few blocks of Camanche middle and high schools.

Investigators now say evidence links an Illinois man to all of those crimes.

Neil Ryan Grayum, 29, of Savanna, Illinois was arrested Wednesday, February 18, 2015 according to Camanche Police Sgt. Richard Schmitz.   Grayum was charged with six felony counts of third-degree burglary, one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree theft, four misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree theft, one felony count of second-degree criminal mischief, and five misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Grayum was held in the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash-only bond.
