WQAD heads to the Chicago Auto Show

News 8’s Jason Fechner heads to Chicago to check out the 2015 Auto Show

Boasting roughly 1,000,000 square feet of trucks, cars and concepts across two massive halls of Chicago's McCormick Place, the 2015 Chicago Auto Show kicked off last weekend and runs through Sunday.

"They're lining up half an hour before the show because they're so excited to get in," said Dave Sloan, the general manager of the Auto Show. "You see it in social media, too-- people are so excited about the show!"

Started back in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is now the largest in North America, featuring nearly 1,000 vehicles, along with live events, celebrity guests, simulators, interactive displays-- you name it.

"There's a lot of passion and love for what we do, and to put something together like this is just incredible," said John Webb, the Auto Show's chairman.

With so much to choose from, there are a lot of favorites, but Webb says the super cars steal the show year after year.

"The super cars, definitely," Webb said. "It's the biggest assemblage of super cars in our history, and the power they're deriving out of these things with a V6, turbo-charges and eco-boost engines is incredible."
