Police say an 18-year-old driver was ejected when the car she was driving went airborne and rolled several times in a single-vehicle crash.

The 20014 Chevrolet Malibu wrecked at about 12:15 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015, on Warren County Road 23rd Avenue about a half-mile west of Avon, Illinois.   Police said the car went into a ditch, drove up an embankment, went airborne, landed in a field and overturned several times.

The driver, 18-year-old Erin Morgan Heflin of Bushnell, Illinois, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car during the crash.  Heflin was the only person in the car, and her vehicle was the only car involved in the crash.  Heflin was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

Heflin was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seatbelt, illegal transportation of alcohol, unlawful possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor and DUI (alcohol), according to Illinois State Police.
